I Told You, Grandma!

I told you that if you didn't cut the boys' hair last week that Andy was going to do something drastic.
And not only did he do something, but he made me help!
It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, & gosh darn do they look cute.
I might be brave enough to do this on my own from now on!
Does anyone else think that the spikey hair totally fits Jack's personality, or is it just me?
For Pete's sake, Frank's getting so grown up. He turns 5 in less than 2 months & starts kindergarten in July. I'm already dreading it.

A Not-So-Perfect Day

Sometimes I really wish I wasn't such a "single mom."
Especially when I am running a temp of 103.
Especially when it's Spring Break & the kids are going stir-crazy.
Especially when all of this happens on St. Patty's Day- my favorite!(This pic was taken after they'd been cleaning up for 5 minutes. What a mess!)
The kids did get shamrock pancakes & green eggs before Mommy had to rush off to the Dr.
My all-green dinner plans were scrapped, however, when I began running that temp & couldn't hardly get off the couch. Yuck!
Luckily, I discovered that you can indeed turn mac-n-cheese green!
St. Patrick's Day was saved!
Thank heavens for green food coloring.

A Perfect Day

Daddy was actually home today, so we headed out to The Cove in Sierra Vista. Click on "The Cove" to go to their website.
.
Can I just say- AMAZING!!!!
It was a short 40 minute drive from our house (hey, it's almost that far to Costco!), & there was something to do for everyone.
.
Our favorite parts:
Daddy & Mommy- a whole happy day with no griping
Emma- the whole thing!
Frank- the waves!
Jack- the BIG slide
James- the warm pool with all of the little kiddos loving on him
.
So, if any of you need something to do for Spring Break, make sure you go this week
It's only open for their Spring Break & will be closed next week.
.
I'll drift off tonight with visions of grinning faces dancing in my head
I love perfect days.

Girl Fun vs Boy Fun

Our little (big) surprise of taking the boys to Monster Jam turned out to be a HUGe success. After all, what could be more fun than watching giant trucks smash cars?Maybe watching Megasaurus eat a car & then burn it up?
(I know this event was a hit because at this very second, I can hear Frank in his room talking about Megasaurus & trying to build one with Legos.)A quote from Frank: "It was the BEST DAY EVER!!"And since the boys got to go have some man-time, Emma & Mommy needed some girly time to counteract all the testosterone.
This is what I came up with:
Mommy Daughter mani-pedisMy legs almost don't reach into the water!Oh yes, the big poofy pillow helps a lot. What a princess!A quote from Emma: "This is the BEST DAY EVER!!"

I think Mommy & Daddy did good this time.

GREAT Chicken Event!

I know that's a strange post title, but I've heard amazing things about this company & I wanted to let you all know about it.
.
Zaycon Foods is a company from the Northwest that holds bulk food events around the country. On SATURDAY, MARCH 19 they're having a boneless, skinless chicken event in Marana. This is awesome, because they offer 40 pound orders for $1.61/lb. The meat comes in 10-pound bags & has never been frozen. They recommend prepping the meat before you freeze it- cube some, slice some fajita-style, etc. Apparently the chicken breasts are huge!
.
I've heard nothing but great things about this event, so I'm excited to get some food storage at a great price. I figured us LDS-type folks would want to participate, so here you go!
.
Check the event out here- and even if you're not from Tucson or Phoenix, go ahead & register for an account! If enough people from an area register, they just might bring an event to you!
.
But HURRY! They have a limited quantity & sell out FAST!

Are You Brave Enough? Not Me!

Andrew was randomly perusing the articles from our MSN homepage last night & found an article about 7 crazy American sandwiches.
.
I was going to check my e-mail this morning & the article was still up, so I glanced through it quickly.
.
Holy cow! That sandwich is from Safford!

Go here to be informed (and a little disgusted).
