Kitchen Tip

Do you know how to make your kitchen smell REALLY good?

Simple.

Just knock a full bottle of pure vanilla off the countertop with a perfect spin so that it lands right on the cap, shatters it, and then bounces right side up. It's tricky, I know.

The vanilla will run across your floor & seep underneath the trim on the bottom of the cabinets, leaving you with a sweet baking smell that's hard to replicate.

Movin' & Shakin'

Today was James' 4 month checkup & here's his stats:

Weight: 12 lbs, 12 oz-- 5th percent (he is a Merriman after all)

Height: 24 inches- 25th percent

Head: ??- 50th percent!

But that big noggin does come in handy when doing his latest trick. Brace yourselves, Grandmas!

This was his VERY FIRST TIME! Yay Mommy for getting it on tape!

I don't know what I'm going to do! The only way I've been surviving being the mom of 4 kids is that I only have to keep track of 3 of them. And that's already a challenge since I was only blessed with 2 eyeballs.

Pray for me, friends.

I Told You, Grandma!

I told you that if you didn't cut the boys' hair last week that Andy was going to do something drastic.

And not only did he do something, but he made me help!

It wasn't as hard as I thought it would be, & gosh darn do they look cute.

I might be brave enough to do this on my own from now on!

Does anyone else think that the spikey hair totally fits Jack's personality, or is it just me?

For Pete's sake, Frank's getting so grown up. He turns 5 in less than 2 months & starts kindergarten in July. I'm already dreading it.

A Not-So-Perfect Day

Sometimes I really wish I wasn't such a "single mom."

Especially when I am running a temp of 103.

Especially when it's Spring Break & the kids are going stir-crazy.

Especially when all of this happens on St. Patty's Day- my favorite!(This pic was taken after they'd been cleaning up for 5 minutes. What a mess!)

The kids did get shamrock pancakes & green eggs before Mommy had to rush off to the Dr.

My all-green dinner plans were scrapped, however, when I began running that temp & couldn't hardly get off the couch. Yuck!

Luckily, I discovered that you can indeed turn mac-n-cheese green!

St. Patrick's Day was saved!
